Drywall ceiling repair tips…I used the scrap piece of drywall from my light installation to do this repair. I cut off the excess, left the paper, and added blocking. I fastened the patch with drywall screws and used setting-type joint compound between the paper and ceiling. After 2 to 3 coats, sanding, and primer it looks like new.
